Mustangs U15 Advance In Provincial Lacrosse Championships

The Moose Jaw Mustangs U15 lacrosse team is off to the semi finals in the provincial championships after defeating the host Weyburn Young Fellows Thrashers 6 - 2 Saturday morning.

The Thrashers opened the scoring in the first period on a Hudson Maloney goal at 14:00. Assists went to Shiloh Mickler and Ronin Pouteaux.

Moose Jaw got on the board at 12:16 when Cooper Fulton scored at 12:16.

The Mustangs took the lead for good at 8:04 when Slade Tremblay scored. Assisting in the goal was Rylan Deichert.

The second period’s scoring was all about Moose Jaw.

Rylan Deichert scored a powerplay goal at 10:39.

Connor Livingston scored an unassisted goal at 9:52.

The third period saw Brett Bowerin score a powerplay goal at 14:00 assisted by Cooper Fulton and Cash Bellefueille.

The Mustangs rounded out their scoring while shorthanded.

Cooper Fulton scored at 3:39 assisted by Ryan Deichert.

Despite a five goal deficit the Thrahers had not given up scoring in the final seconds of the game.

With 12 seconds remaining Keven Pouteaux scored for Weyburn.

The U15 Mustangs next game is 8:30 am on Sunday morning.
