South Hill Royal Falcons JV Boys City Champs
It was a big evening for the South Hill Royal Falcons as they overcame a height advantage to defeat the Notre Dame Hounds 79 - 64 and grab the city league JV boys championship.
The Royal Falcons - a team made up of students from Riverview Collegiate and Cornerstone Christian School - played a solid game against a tough opponent.
The game between the Royal Falcons and Hounds was an emotional affair.

Early for Notre Dame Jack Littlechild and Gene Armstrong had a strong start to the game. The hounds took an early lead in the First Quarter.
South Hill clawed back in last 3 minutes, Drew Biette finishing with and a transition and-1 Layup to lead 21-19.
In the Second Quarter South Hill went on a 22-6 run to extend their lead.
Notre Dame came out of halftime (Third Quarter) and scored 8 points including some strong buckets from post Tyson Bourgeois. South Hill put on a press and stopped the run with three quick layups.
South Hill extended the lead in the Fourth Quarter off good shooting and free-throws from Cooper Gregor, Matthew Artavia, and Cole Bennalick.
Both teams will play advance to provincial play in the next weeks with conferences hosted at RVCI Friday and Saturday.
