Canada Easily Handles Czechia

In many ways, it was expected at the same time I push over as Team Canada defeated Team Czechia 5 - 0 in semi final action at the 2023 World Para Ice Hockey Championships on Saturday.

Played in front of 1458 fans the win puts Canada into tomorrow evenings gold medal match up versus United States.

The US team advanced earlier in the afternoon, defeating Team China convincingly 10 - 2.

The scoring was opened at the 26 second mark in the First Period by Dominic Cozzolino assisted by Adam Dixon.

Canada would strike again on the powerplay off of the stick of James Dunn at 6:00. Assists went to Team Canada’s captain Tyler McGregor and Adam Dixon.

Team Canada would score 18 seconds later at the 6:18 mark.

Dunn would get his second goal assisted by Auren Halbert and Adam Dixon would chip in with his third assist of the opening frame.

Team Canada would make it 4 - 0 at 11:39 when Zach Lavin scored an unassisted goal.

The Second Period would go scoreless.

The Third Period saw Dominic Cozzolino score his second goal of the game at 31:07 assisted by Tyler McGregor.

The Final Score was Canada 5 and Czechia 0.

The shutout win went to Dominic Larocque who faced 11 shots.

Team Czechia netminder stopped 19 out of 24 shots on goal.

Three games are on hand for the final day of the tournament.

Team Italy faces Team Korea at 11 am to decide the Fifth place winner.

Team China farces Team Czechia at 3 pm in the Bronze Medal Game.

And Team Canada faces Team USA in the evening at 7 pm in the Gold Medal game.
