Milestone Rink Packed For Series Finale

Close to 500 screaming fans had the Milestone Memorial Rink rocking on Friday evening as the home team Milestone U18A Female Flyers faced the visiting Carlyle Wildcats in game three in Saskatchewan Female U18A Hockey League first round playoff action.
By far the largest crowd in the U18A Female Flyers history filled the rink for Game Three of a best of three series.
Game Three came about as the result of the seventh seeded Wildcats stunning the second seeded Flyers in Game One of the series 5 - 3 in Milestone.
Milestone would recover traveling to Carlyle where they beat the Wildcats 6 - 2.

FIRST PERIOD
The Flyers opened the scoring at 16:16 of the first period on an unassisted goal by Jesse Mielke.
The Wildcats would respond with an unassisted goal of their own by Kasenya Einarson at 15:52.
The Wildcats would take the lead at the 6:26 mark when Jaycee Gervais scored unassisted.
The Wildcats lead 2 - 1 at the first intermission.
SECOND PERIOD
The Flyers would tie the game at 17:41 of the Second Period when Jordan Terry scored. The assist went to Dayna Pratt.
Milestone would re-take the lead on a Jordyn Vermeulen goal at 14:01. The goal was unassisted.

The third Flyers goal of the period came at 8:32 scored by Callie Callaghan. Assists went to Peighton Materi and McKenna Perras.
The Flyers lead 4 - 2 at the second intermission.
THIRD PERIOD
The final period saw Alexa Materi score unassisted at 8:09.
The final Flyers goal came at 7:35 scored by Pratt and assisted by Terry.
The Flyers won the game 6 - 2 eliminating the Wildcats two games to one in the three game series.
The Flyers advance to the second round of the playoffs against the South West Cyclones (Gull Lake).
The regular season saw the Flyers post a two win - one loss and one tie record against the Cyclones.
The Flyers next game is Game One at home on Monday March 6th at 7:30 pm where they face the fifth seed South West Cyclones (Gull Lake) who defeated fourth seed Regina Rebels in two straight games.
Game Two goes Wednesday evening in Maple Creek at 7:30 pm.
Game Three, if necessary, goes Sunday March 12 at 2 pm in Milestone.
