By Robert Thomas

With the Moose Jaw city high school basketball league wrapped up there is still more basketball to see locally as the 4A girls, 4A boys and 5A boys regionals are being hosted in Moose Jaw this weekend.

4A GIRLS - Vanier Collegiate

At Vanier Collegiate the 2023 high school city league champions Spirits will host the 4A regionals.

Tip off for the second seeded Spirits is 6 pm on Friday evening versus the 15th seeded Sakaskohc.

The tournament draws for 4A senior girls regionals at Vanier are below.

If you are out to cheer on the Spirits and want to check out more basketball at 8 pm Friday there is a matchup between Melville and Regina Johnson.

Editor's Note - I’m certain the out of town girls would like to see more people in the stands.

4A SENIOR BOYS - Central Collegiate

Regionals at Central tip off with a 7 pm game on Friday evening between 8th Martensville and 9th seed Regina Scott.

The first seed Central Cyclones play the winner of the Friday night game at noon on Saturday.

The winner at that game advances to the 4A provincial finals at HOOPLA.

5A SENIOR BOYS - Peacock Collegiate

The Moose Jaw High School city league champions the Peacock Toilers are the hosts for the 5A Regionals.

The first game at Peacock is 11:15 am on Friday between 8th Estevan against 9th seed Warman.

The fourth seeded Toilers take on the 5th seeded Yorkton Regional at 2:45 pm on Friday.

If you are a fan of basketball the 5A regionals offers the most games of the three regional qualifiers taking place in the city.
