Senior Basketball Set To Tip Off
By Robert Thomas
The locally most popular high school sport - basketball - is set to get underway tomorrow evening.
Tomorrow evening - Wednesday November 29 - high school senior girls and senior boys basketball kicks off with five games.
Only two matches take place in Moose Jaw.
At 6:20 pm the volcanically heated rivalry between the Vanier Spirits and Peacock Toilers kicks off at the Peacock Gym.
If you look at who the Spirits may have to draw on in 2023 - 2024 versus Peacock’s potential roster it’s likely to be a battle all year between these two.
At 8 pm the senior boys teams from Vanier and Peacock take to the court.
The Central Cyclones senior girls head off to Assiniboia to face the Rockets on Tuesday evening to kick off their season.
Big Changes
The biggest change this year is addition of Swift Current to the league on both the senior girls and senior boys side.
The other big change is the return of the Lumsden Devils to senior boys action after playing JV last season as a demonstration team.
Both senior girls and senior boys from Lumsden will be taking the long bus ride to face Swift Current on Wednesday evening.
