Weyburn Captures League Championship
Submitted photos and game report
A tight defensive battle on the coldest final day of the season may be the epitome of Canadian football - but unfortunately for the Central Cyclones it didn’t yield the result they wanted.
The Cyclones fell 28 - 8 to the Weyburn Eagles in the South Rural 12-aside league championship game on Saturday afternoon.
The First Quarter score was Eagles 7 and Cyclones 6.
Central’s points came on a touchdown by Mason Payne.
The Halftime Score was Eagles 21 and Cyclones 6.
Weyburn lead 21 - 8 at the end of the Third Quarter.
The two points came when Weyburn’s Ashburn took a knee in the end zone.
The Final Score was Weyburn 28 and the Cyclones 8.
