Flyers Lose Against The Prairie Storm Thunder
After two victories on the weekend the Milestone 18A Flyers were defeated 3 - 1 Wednesday evening in White City versus the south division leaders Prairie Storm Thunder in Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SFHL) action.
The Flyers were short their two top point getters Moose Jaw Mavericks products Ember DuSomme and Sidney Ellingson in the hard fought game.
The Prairie Storm Thunder opened the game in the First Period on a goal by SFHL second place regular season point getter Megan Clark assisted by Jana Stoll at the 18:10 mark.
The Thunder would increase their lead at the 15:26 mark on a goal by Kiana Hrechka assisted by Abbie MacZuba.
The Second Period saw the Prairie Storm Thunder increase their lead by three goals when Amber Thacyk scored at the 16:28 mark assisted by MacZuba.
The Flyers would get on the scoreboard spoiling the Thunder’s shutout at the 14:01 mark on an unassisted goal by Nikita Halyk.
There was no scoring in the Third Period.
Shots on goal were 33 - 29 in favour of the Prairie Storm Thunder.
The Flyers next action is an away game on February 11th versus the Wood River Ice Cats in Lafleche.
