Milestone Flyers Pull Off Second Weekend Win
Less than 24 hours after their Friday night victory over the Regina Rebels the Milestone U18 A Female Flyers were back on the Milestone Arena's ice looking for their second win of the weekend.
In a come from behind victory the Flyers defeated the visiting Wood River SWT Ice Cats 4 - 2 in a Saturday afternoon matinee matchup in front of a crowd of about 125 spectators.
First Period
The first period of play was largely an even skating affair.
The Flyers would be the first to open the scoring at the 12:55 mark when Kalla Nicholas scored an unassisted goal.

Second Period
The second period saw the Ice Cats grab the momentum and pressure the Flyers.
The paid off for the Ice Cats when they managed to get on the scoreboard at the 13:47 mark when Chloe Kendall scored unassisted.
The Ice Cats would take their first and only lead of the game at the 8:15 mark when Tyla Packet scored assisted by Jayne Auger.
Heading into the the final break the Ice Cats had a 2 - 1 lead.
Third Period
The third party saw the Flyers turn their play up a notch as they had a slight edge on the Ice Cats.
Milestone was able to use the momentum to tie the game at the 10:36 mark when Jesse Mielke scored. Kaleigh McCann assisted on the play.
The Flyers would take the lead at the 2:37 mark when Alexa Materi scored in a scramble in front of the Ice Cats net leading to the goal. The assist went to Jesse Mielke.
The fourth and final goal was scored by former Moose Jaw Mavericks product and Flyers defence Brooklyn Hrynkiw scored an unassisted goal with 1:05 left in the game.

Hrynkiw scored just after stepping across the red line and dumped the puck into the Wood River zone beating goaltender Emily Gross glove side.
