Flyers Pull Off Second Win Of The Weekend
The Milestone 18A Flyers pulled off their second victory in Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SFHL) of the weekend in a penalty riddled affair in Midale against the TS&M Gold Wings on Sunday.
The win helped the Flyers remain strongly alone on second place in the SFHL southern division standings.
The Flyer's 3 - 2 victory was highlighted by a two goal effort by Moose Jaw Mavericks product Sidney Ellingson.
The Gold Wings Meaghan Weager opened the scoring in the First Period on the power play at the 8:52 mark assisted by Dixie Corscadden.
The Flyers responded also on the power play at 4:22 when Sidney Ellingson scored assisted by Ember DuSomme.
The Flyers took the lead at the 14:56 mark of the Second Period when Kalla Nicholas scored assisted by Callie Callaghan at the 14:56 mark.
The Gold Wings however tied it up on the powerplay when Tallyn Johnstone scored at the 2:11 mark. Assists went to Lola Brady and Havyn Walbaum
The Third Period saw the Flyers gain the lead for the second and final time on a goal by Ellingson at 16:20. The assisted went to Taryn Sandbeck.
The Flyers remain in second place in the SFHL south division standings.
The Flyers next game is this Wedesday at 8 pm in White City versus the Prairie Storm Thunder.
