Union says closing public liquor retail stores will be devastating to workers and is unnecessary.
Asked what caused the drop in revenues SGEU’s Bob Stadnichuk took direct aim at the government saying they tied the public store’s hands during privatization and set them up for failure.
The SLGA is closing its retail outlets - including Moose Jaw's - due to economic reasons as the so far profitable Crown corporation is set to soon become a money loser, the Minister says.
Money that could be better spent on other higher priorities than subsidizing the retail liquor outlets, she told reporters.
