Male Charged With Weapons Offences After Pointing Gun
An 18 year old male allegedly pointing a pellet gun at a group of people on Friday is facing multiple charges today.
The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) responded to a weapons call where a man was pointing a gun at a group of people.
The 18 year old man allegedly had the weapon in a bag and then took it out and pointed to intimidate a group of people.
The accused and group of people are known to each other. It was not a random act.
The alleged incident occurred near Langdon Crescent.
The male was arrested without incident.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
The MJPS did not release the name of the accused as well as the time of the alleged incident.
It is standard practice not to release the accused’s identity until the individual appears in court unless there is a wider danger to the community.
The 18-year-old male has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Carrying a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace, Pointing a Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
The male will appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court at a later date.
