Police Begin Crackdown For School Zone Infractions - Tickets Issued

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, members of our Community Policing Division were out in the community monitoing the area around Conerstone Chistian School.
The two to three officers, who were monitoing that specific school zone, stopped 14 vehicles and issued 9 tickets.
The types of infractions included speeding, license, and registration.
The MJPS is making it a renewed priority to monitor Moose Jaw's vaious school zones to keep students, staff, and parents safe when time permits.
This is also a good time to remind motoists that school zones are 40 km/h from 800 a.m. to 600 p.m. year-round.

If no timeframe is posted, the posted speed limit is in effect 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Fines for speeding in a school zone stat at $270.
