The 2023 Tree Of Significance Announced
September 20, 2023 was Canada’s official National Tree Day.
As part of the National Tree Day celebrations the City of Moose Jaw proudly announced this year’s Tree of Significance.
The City of Moose Jaw’s Tree of Significance program has been held annually in conjunction with National Tree Day and National Forest Week since it’s inception in 2011.
“This program encourages residents to take notice of and appreciate the beauty of our Urban Forest,” Sarah Regent, City Horticulturist said in a statement.
The City of Moose Jaw 2023 Tree of Significance is a mature little leaf linden tree at 1316 Princess Crescent.

This tree was nominated due to its fragrant late-spring blossoms and large, even form. It’s an excellent specimen tree.

The Parks & Recreation Department encourages Moose Jaw residents to take notice of, and appreciate, our urban forest.
