Alleged Incidents Posed No Threats To Students And Staff - Email States
Incidents, which allegedly occurred at and in the vicinity of King George School, posed no threat to student or staff.
That is according to an email sent to parents by Jill Tressell, principal of King George School. The incidents in question were about a man who has been criminally charged by the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) for being on the school grounds.
In the email to parents Tressell said the man initially appeared at the school seeking help at which point the school telephoned the MJPS for assistance. The incident, of a man asking for help, was confirmed by a well placed source to MJ Independent.
The email (pictured below) said the man - who has been criminally charged for three separate incidents - states the school was reassured by the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) the person allegedly involved in the three incident posed no threat to staff or students.
“It is also important to share with you that we have been reassured repeatedly from the police service that this person does not pose a threat to students and staff,” ‘the email stated.
In the e-mail Tressell said the man who was allegedly involved in the incident has “mental health issues and is a former parent of King George.”
The email goes on to state the school is in “close contact with the police service” and the MJPS is working to help the man find the interventions he needs to assist him in his life.
The email also goes on to state the man who allegedly was on school property did not expose himself to children. A rumour has been floating around social media that the man exposed himself to students.
It needs to be noted the accused has been charged with trespassing, mischief and causing a disturbance and NOT publicly exposing himself.
A parent, who asked not to be identified to protect his child, said he felt let down that the school nor the MJPS released anything to parents given the alleged incidents occurred on three separate occasions and the police had increased their presence at the school.
An email sent a couple of days ago to the Moose Jaw Police Service to request comment on the alleged incidents was not responded to.
