Second Household Hazardous Waste Day This Sarturday

If you have any household items which should not be going into the regular trash due to the fact they may contaminate the environment Saturday is your day as it Household Hazardous Waste Day.

The second of two Household Hazardous Waste Days for the year the intent of the event is to give residents the opportunity to properly dispose of waste items which could potentially pollute the environment if simply disposed of in the landfill.

The event is free of charge and from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on August 28 at the City Complex - 1010 High Street West.

Moose Jaw residents are invited to safely dispose of numerous types of everyday household materials they may have collected in their homes.

Among materials accepted:

- Aerosol Cans (Hair Spray, deodorant, household cleaners etc.)

- Liquid household cleaners

- Batteries (Lithium ion, alkaline, rechargeable etc.)

- Light bulbs (Fluorescent, LED, metal halide etc.)

The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that they can dispose of oil, oil filters, oil containers and antifreeze free of charge at the City landfill during regular hours of operation. For full details visit: https://moosejaw.ca/sanitary-landfill/.

Additionally, unwanted paint and electronics may betaken to SARCAN for recycling.
