Klassen Pleads Not Guilty To Voyeurism Charges
REGINA - A well known Moose Jaw business owner has plead not guilty to two charges of Voyeurism in Regina Provincial Court.
Kyra Marie Klassen of Caronport, who owns and operates Dance Fitness With Kyra (the Strong Studio) in Moose Jaw, plead not guilty through her lawyer Talon Regent earlier this morning.
Klassen did not attend court but rather had her lawyer Talon Regent submit her not guilty plea at her first court appearance. Regent appeared by telephone.
Klassen has been charged with two counts of Voyeurism (Section 88CC 162 1a).
“Ms Klassen will be entering a plea of not guilty and we are still waiting on a little bit of disclosure,” Regent told the Court.
Crown Prosecutor Matthew Kerr said the Crown was proceeding summarily - the least severe option - saying that the remaining disclosure would be forthcoming.
Klassen is well known in Moose Jaw for charitable works by her business and for her noise feud with rock star Burton Cummings that went national in the news media.
Klassen remains free on conditions. The conditions include a no contact order with the victim or victims plus no contact through places related to the victim(s) - homes, place(s) of employment, places the victim(s) frequent etc.
Her next court date is August 4th at 9:30 am in Regina Provincial Court.
Klassen should be considered innocent of all allegations until proven guilty in a court of law.
