Main Street Re-Opening Later This Evening

There is good news for people who use Main Street or transit and that is, despite what people were saying at coffee, the sinkhole in front of City Hall in the Fairford and Main intersection is expected to be fixed today.be

The sinkhole which developed on Sunday had the City first erecting barricades around it allowing traffic to navigate around the road hazard to temporarily closing a portion of Main Street to traffic and re-routing a portion of Downtown bus routes is expected to be fixed late today.

The City anticipates the road to open later this evening and Moose Jaw Transit to return to its regular routes tomorrow, March 10th.

The City said the sinkhole was caused by a conditions created by a previous water main break.
