SHA Moving To Mobile Testing In Moose Jaw For Two Days
In a Sunday afternoon news release the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) said they will be conducting mobile COVID - 19 testing in the areas of Moose Jaw where VOC (Variants Of Concern) cases are increasing.
The SHA does not list where in the city the number of VOC cases are increasing in their news release - the mobile testing is NOT for the general public.
To do this, the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be conducting mobile testing on Monday March 29 and Tuesday March 30, replacing the previously scheduled drop-in testing.
Drop-in testing at 250 Thatcher Drive (Moose Jaw Exhibition, Golden Nugget) in Moose Jaw will resume Wednesday March 31.
Anyone seeking COVID-19 testing in the Moose Jaw area can still book testing appointments by calling HealthLine 811 for a referral to the appropriate testing and assessment centre.
The SHA is also calling on everyone to get tested for COVID - 19 due to the numbers of more transmissible VOC cases arising. Testing, along with isolation if a test is positive, is seen as a major means to prevent the spread of COVID - 19 in the community.
Variants Of Concern (VOC) are mutations in the original SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus which make the virus which causes COVID - 19 more transmissible in humans. Mutations in viruses are common as the virus adapts itself to overcome its host’s immune response.
