COVID - 19 Rapid Tests Now Available At Four Locations

For residents who want access to the rapid COVID - 19 testing kits there is now another venue where you can pick one up as the City of Moose Jaw now has them available for all residents free of charge.

The City will offer the kits for free and available for pickup at the Kinsmen Sportsplex located at 855 MacDonald Street.

The City offering the free rapid tests means there are four locations the tests can be picked up. The other three locations are:

  • Moose Jaw COVID Test and Assessment site at the Golden Nugget Building 250 Thatcher Drive East

  • Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce 88 Saskatchewan Street East

  • Moose Jaw Public Library 461 Langdon Crescent

The rapid tests can be used at home and help a person determine if they may have contracted COVID - 19 before seeking more testing and if necessary further medical assistance.

Routine, voluntary testing at home will help prevent asymptomatic transmission to those who are not able to be vaccinated and will reduce COVID-19 transmission in the community.

Asymptomatic means an individual has contracted the virus but demonstrated no symptoms.

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency has made the testing kits available to the public.

The tests do not serve as a means for an unvaccinated person to prove they have had a negative COVID - 19 test nor to attend workplaces which require proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID - 19 test.

For people in other communities the list of where to pick up the kits in your community can be located by clicking the link and entering where you live.

Testing kits may be in limited supply but the supply is regularly re-stocked.
