Phase Five Work Continues As Most Of Downtown Work Is Done
As school returns so to does the construction in the school zones of two Moose Jaw schools - St Agnes and Prince Arthur.
At the same time another major Downtown street re-opened to traffic as Fairford Street East is up and running once again.
Second Avenue NW - Manitoba Street W to Fairford Street W
Work contines on this addition to ths year’s Phase Five of the Cast Iron Water Main Replacement program bit there has been noticeable progress this past week as there has been some paving or the formerly open trench works is now being filled back in and compacted.
Third Avenue NW - Oxford Street W to MacDonald Street W
Excavation work began on the newest section of this year’s cast iron replacement this past week with the section from Oxford Street W to Hall Street W presently being excavated.
The construction work has led to the closure of the intersection of Oxford St W and 3rd Ave NW adjacent St Agnes School. Fencing is in place to prevent pedestrian access to 3rd Avenue NW from the school.
Stadacona Street East - 600 - 900 Blocks
Work also continues on this project with the sidewalks now repaired and the trench backfilled on the 600 block and active packing of materials for paving to take place.
The street remains closed to vehicle traffic from 6th Avenue NE to 9th Avenue NE including the intersections of 7th Avenue NE/Stadacona E and 8th Avenue NE.
