Bus Service Returning To Regular Schedule
Well it is official the transit system will returning to it regular full-schedule service on September 8th. It also will mark the return of regular fares for riders.
The regular $1.25 adult regular fare will be in effect after Moose Jaw Transit being free but on a reduced schedule since April in an effort to assist residents impacted financially by the COVID - 19 pandemic.
The schedule will also include the daily school bus run where an additional bus is put into service in the morning to assist handle the higher ridership demand. This service begins at 7:42 on school days.
Council recently voted not to make it mandatory to wear masks on the buses but recommends riders do in accordance with the recommendations of Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Officer to wear masks if you cannot avoid being within close contact (two meters) of others.
The safety guidelines are as follows:
- Non-medical masks or face coverings are strongly recommended as two-metre physical distancing can not be guaranteed.
- Full-seated loads only; no standing room available.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Any passenger calling Paratransit to request a ride will be asked a series of assessment questions provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authority to determine the passenger's well-being.
