CN Gives Update On Repair - Apologizes For Delay
It’s one of the biggest questions when it comes to road repair in the city, that is when is CN going to repair their crossing on Main Street North?
The inside lane on the southbound and just north of Canadian Tire has been barricaded to traffic since early February.
In a written statement to MJ Independent CN Rail said they had been in communication with the City of Moose Jaw with repairs slated to be completed by the end of September. The reason for the delay is the difficulty in acquiring what is necessary to do the repairs.
“After communications with the City of Moose Jaw administration, CN indicated that this crossing rehabilitation will occur before the end of September 2020 and explained the challenges to accessing required construction materials.
Unfortunately, recent changes to supply chains and materials have impacted CN’s schedules and planning.
We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to continuing to collaborate with the City of Moose Jaw on this joint safety critical project,” the statement read.
In an enquiry at this past Monday evening's Council meeting city manager Jim Puffalt said the City had been in contact with CN but the railway was working on a different schedule.
