Annual Street Sweeping Kicks Off Today
An annual chore is set to get underway today as the City of Moose Jaw begins its annual Spring street sweeping campaign. And other than inclement weather it’s a job the Covid - 19 pandemic is likely not to impact.
Street cleaning is done at least once per year for all roadways as an effort to keep our City beautiful for residents and tourists.
To help keep the public informed “No Parking” signs in affected areas 72 hours prior to sweeping, with the exception of the downtown business metered area.
The City requests motorists cooperation and to obey the “No Parking” signs, as it makes the cleaning much more efficient.
Parking fines are not being enforced this year. Instead, crews will be sweeping around any parked cars and will not return.
The following street cleaning schedule will be followed:
1. Main Street North (To be cleaned between midnight - 8:36 a.m.
2. Metered areas Downtown: 2nd Avenue NW to 2nd Avenue NE/Manitoba Street to Ross Street
3. Roadways adjacent to high schools, SaskPolytech, 4th Ave Viaduct and 9th Ave SW/NW
4. Arterial and collector streets and bus routes
5. Residential areas:
a. North of Caribou St: 9th Avenue NW to 5th Avenue NE
b. South Hill (including Churchill Park)
c. Sunningdale
d. VLA areas
e. Caribou Street to Ominica Street: 5th Avenue NW to 16th Avenue NW
f. West of 9th Avenue NW: Caribou Street to Laurier Street
g. 4th Avenue NE to 11th Avenue NE: Oxford Street to Manitoba Street
The schedule may be impacted by weather.
