Submitted

MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw continues to hold daily meetings with our Emergency Measures team related to our efforts to stop the potential spread of COVID-19.

All emergency and essential services continue to be provided and the City is completing planning and reviewing its business continuity plan that will see non-essential employees and those employees with underlying health issues work from home where possible.

Mayor Fraser Tolmie and City Manager Jim Puffalt held a live media briefing to provide updated information about City operations affected by COVID-19.

The video of the media briefing isesavailable on the City of Moose Jaw Facebook page (due to technical difficulties it was not available on the City’s YouTube channel. We apologize for any inconvenience).

The City continues to work with Public Health and follow guidelines set forth by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and Provincial Government under the current provincial State of Emergency.

While Moose Jaw Transit continues to operate, the morning and afternoon “School Run” routes are cancelled until further notice (local schools are closed until further notice effective March 20).

Finally, the City of Moose Jaw sends thanks to Moose Javians who are reaching out to help those in need, and we thank the local business community for their efforts serving residents.

Given the nature of COVID-19, the dedication of front-line workers and business owners to serve customers in need has not gone unnoticed.

The City of Moose Jaw will continue to offer updates on www.MooseJaw.ca and the new City of Moose Jaw app, which can be found in the Apple and Google Play app stores.
