City Hall To Be Closed To Public As Part Of Covid - 19 Precautions

In measures not seen since the Spanish Influenza of 1918 the City of Moose Jaw has announced that all civic buildings and recreational facilities, including City Hall itself, will be closed to public access commencing Tuesday March 17th. The closures are precautionary measures due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Covid - 19.

Originating in Wuhan, China Covid - 19 is a coronavirus which has caused tens of thousands of people to be ill with often flu-like symptoms and is responsible for thousands of deaths worldwide most amongst the elderly. As a Novel Coronavirus it spread from an animal to a human and then mutated to allow human to human transmission. There is no vaccine yet for Covid - 19.

As part of the precautionary measures access is restricted to the public from all City owned facilities including City Hall.

The list of facilities include:

• City Hall

• All arenas including Mosaic Place, Pla-Mor Palace and Kinsmen Sportsplex

• Kinsmen Sportsplex Swimming Pool

• Yara Centre

• Moose Jaw Cultural Centre

• Moose Jaw Public Library

• Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery

For people who need to drop off important documents and payments at City Hall please use the mail slot in the front of the building. The City of Moose Jaw also offers online payment options.

With the closur of recreational facilities all registered programs and swimming lessons is cancelled immediately.

Customer accounts will be credited for future use or refunds.

City Recreation Passes will be automatically suspended until the facilities re-open, with members being credited for the time lost. Customers who choose to cancel will receive a pro-rated refund.
