Outbreak Declared At Thunder Creek Pork
The spread of COVID - 19 has resulted in an outbreak being declared at Thunder Creek Pork.
It is unknown how many staff members have contracted COVID - 19 but on Sunday an anonymous source told MJ Independent that at least one worker had contracted COVID - 19 at that time.
Saskatchewan Health declares an outbreak when two or more individuals contract COVID - 19 and are linked to a specific facility outside of the home or an event within a specific amount of time.
The plant which employs 265 people remains open at this time.
The plant has months ago instituted barriers and other measures to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Earlier in the year COVID - 19 wreaked havoc on meat processing facilities especially the Cargill facility located south of Calgary at High River.
