Police Fine Resident $2800 For Large Home Gathering
In what is likely the first laying of charges under a COVID - 19 related health order in the city a Moose Jaw resident has been fined $2800 for exceeding the limit of over 15 people at a house gathering on Friday.
Moose Jaw police attended the home where they found a large gathering over the 15 allowed under the COVID - 19 provincial State of Emergency health order and issued the fine to the person responsible for the residence,
The public health order, issued October 16, also states that people outside of the household must also maintain a minimum of two meter distance from others. The order to be physically distance applies to all homes and buildings located on private property.
The Moose Jaw Police Service attended the residence after receiving a complaint sometime on Friday night.
