Two Local Charities Benefit From Dress Down Fridays

A policy which allows City staff to wear casual clothing at work on Fridays saw a couple of local charities receiving some much needed funds.

“Dress Down” Fridays is a voluntary program that allows employees to wear casual clothing on Fridays throughout the year. Employees pay $30 for that privilege, with all funds being allocated to local charities each year.

In 2019 participating employees raised $1,177.50 (employees who started part-way through the year contributed a pro-rated amount).

Members of the City’s Recruitment, Retention and Recognition Committee (RRRC) voted that the proceeds be split between the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank and Moose Jaw Humane Society. Donations were presented to the respective organizations on Monday, January 6, 2020.
