Would you like to be part of welcoming French speaking Newcomers to Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan if so here is some valuable information:

The Welcoming Francophone Communities (WFC) Initiative of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is a five-year pilot project based on the realities of the community, in response to the request ofFrancophone Minority Communities (FMCs). Its purpose is to support the consolidation of the Francophone Integration Pathway.

The initiative is coordinated with the support of the Saskatchewan Francophone Immigration Network(RIF-SK) which has received planning and support funding for this initiative. RIF-SK voting members chose Moose Jaw and the rural city of Gravelbourg as the welcoming Francophone Community in Saskatchewan at their meeting, on January 9, 2019.

This initiative will be guided in the ground by a Community Advisory Board made up of volunteers. In a first phase (2019-2020), the board will develop a community action plan aligned with the Francophone Integration Pathway and welcoming community characteristics proposed by the Government of Canada.

This plan will guide the implementation of the initiative, in a second phase (2020-2023).

The Community Advisory Board is:

• Representative of the chosen and inclusive welcoming Francophone community;

• A mechanism for participation and community engagement;

• Responsible for setting priorities for the WFC and identifying relevant activities / projects / costs

and making recommendations on them;

• A formal structure, to which the IRCC Ministry does not delegate financial authority;

• Impartial and based on shared leadership to move the initiative forward locally.

We are therefore launching a call for nominations to identify three (3) resident volunteers from the City of Moose Jaw. These people will work with the three volunteers already identified from the city of Gravelbourg, with the support of the RIF-SK Coordination.

Note that the volunteers must be able to function in French in all aspects of the Community Advisory Board work.

Communauté francophone accueillante de Moose Jaw et de la ville rurale de Gravelbourg : Une initiative du gouvernement du Canada L’initiative des Communautés francophones accueillantes d’Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada est un projet pilote de cinq ans basé sur les réalités de la communauté, en réponse à la demande des communautés francophones en situation minoritaire (CFSM). Elle a pour but d’appuyer la consolidation du parcours d’intégration francophone.

L’initiative est coordonnée avec l’appui du Réseau en immigration francophone de la Saskatchewan (RIF-SK) qui a reçu des fonds de planification et d’appui pour cette initiative. Les membres décisionnels du RIF-SK ont choisi le regroupement de Moose Jaw et de la ville rurale de Gravelbourg comme Communauté francophone accueillante pilote en Saskatchewan, lors de leur rencontre du 9 janvier 2019.

Cette initiative sera guidée sur le terrain par un Comité Consultatif Communautaire (CCC) formé de bénévoles. Dans une première phase, il élaborera en 2019-2020 un plan d’action communautaire aligné sur le parcours d’intégration francophone et les caractéristiques d’une communauté accueillante proposées par le gouvernement du Canada. Ce plan guidera la mise en œuvre de l’initiative de 2020-2023, dans une deuxième phase.

Le Comité Consultatif Communautaire (CCC) est :

• Représentatif de la Communauté francophone accueillante choisie et inclusif;

• Un mécanisme de participation et d’engagement communautaire;

• Responsable d’établir les priorités pour la CFA et d’identifier les activités/projets/coûts

pertinents et faire des recommandations à ce sujet;

• Une structure formelle, auquel le Ministère d’IRCC ne délègue pas d’autorité financière;

• Impartial et fondé sur le leadership partagé pour faire avancer l’initiative localement.

Nous lançons donc un appel de candidatures pour identifier trois (3) bénévoles résidents de la ville

de Moose Jaw. Ces personnes travailleront avec les trois bénévoles déjà identifiés de la ville de

Gravelbourg, avec l’appui de la Coordination du RIF-SK.
