It may have been the determination of the community, it may have been Mayor Fraser Tolmie not backing down but it was most likely the allure of free Moosehead beer but the Norwegians have finally cried uncle in the titanic battle with the City.

In a news article sent to MJ Independent from a rival journalist Øistein Monsen the Norwegians behind the silver elk they call a moose have finally had enough and called for a truce with the Notoriously Friendly City. They have also requested MJ Independent quit calling Norwegian officials for an interview and then asking questions in Russian.

The Norwegians would like to apologize for getting so many people here angry and are prepared to call an armistice and even visit Moose Jaw that is if the Mayor agrees and lets the Norwegian delegation stay at his house for a couple of weeks.

Mayor Fraser Tolmie told MJ Independent that the City is prepared to talk with the Norwegians but “they should have thought of it before they built the biggest moose and intentionally challenged Moose Jaw.’

The Mayor said if the Norwegians did travel to Moose Jaw that “we are willing to talk.”

Regarding potential refreshments at the talks the Mayor stated that the refreshments would be provided because “it is only the right thing if they are willing to travel all this way…to show them our true hospitality.”

Here is the article from the Norwegian press announcing the plea for international moose peace.

Neither Mayor Tolmie, nor anyone else in the political leadership of Moose Jaw, has yet responded to the request from Stor-Elvdal municipality.

Dagbladet knows that the deputy mayor has a blank authorization to travel to Canada on short notice if it should prove that the Canadians will negotiate.
