Bobby's Place Gets Noise Exception
Robert Thomas
Downtown is going to get a little louder on Saturday night. Bobby's Place has been granted a special Noise Bylaw (Bylaw 5488) exemption, allowing them a noise allowance until midnight.
The reason for the exemption is to allow the popular and community minded night club to provide live outdoor music for a beer garden.
As part of the application, Bobby’s Place informed all property owners with accommodation within a one block radius about the event and asked if they had any concerns. Additionally, if the noise generated is excessive the Moose Jaw Police Service has the authority to take corrective action up to and including shutting the event down.
The fourth annual outdoor event features live music played on the Club's roof with local charities benefitting.
Bobby's Place is locally renowned for its free rides and Christmas dinner provided without judgment to anyone who is hungry and might be alone on Christmas.
The exemption was approved unanimously by Council with no discussion.
