Submitted by Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce
Canadian Pacific (CP) is proud to announce 20 years of riding the rails to raise money and awareness about hunger issues in Canada and the US, one stop at a time.
The CP Holiday Train program launched in 1999 and has since raised more than C$14.5 million and gathered 4.3 million pounds of food for communities along CP's routes in Canada and the United States.
Over the 9 past years, Moose Jaw has done it a little better. CP is proud to be once again teaming up with Golden West Radio and the Moose Jaw CO-OP and hosting the “Good-Buy to Hunger” Food drive. The Moose Jaw CO-OP will be promoting the sale of the food bags starting November December 9/18 in hopes to fill the shelves of our local food bank this holiday
Mix 103.9 will be Live at the Moose Jaw CO-OP December 4, 2018 promoting the “Good-Buy to Hunger” food drive. Again this year CP will be raffling two (2) tickets to ride the CP Holiday Train from Regina to Moose Jaw December 5, 2018. Anyone who makes a purchase before 5pm December 4, 2018 will be entered into the draw
In 2017, Moose Jaw had a very successful Holiday Train! The total weight from the Food Drive and donations during the show was over 5,000 lbs. of food that was collected for the Moose Jaw Food Bank. The Moose Jaw CO-OP has set a goal of 800 bags for 2018. Moose Jaw let’s fill those shelves!
By purchasing “Good-Buy to Hunger” bags for $10/bag this supports those in need this holiday season.
Anyone wishing to contribute by cheque may do so by making their cheque out to “The Moose Jaw CO-OP”, call 306-693-5422 for more details. Donating by cheque also qualifies entry into the draw.
The CP Holiday Train will be in Moose Jaw on December 6th and features performers Terri Clark, Sierra Noble and Kelly Preston.
