Tom Lukiwski Suffers Health Scare, Remains Optimistic
MJ Independent
Tom Lukiwski, the current Conservative Member of Parliament for Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan, has suffered a little health scare recently, but, he claims, "I don't plan on going anywhere soon except back to parliament".
It's safe to say that he will undoubtedly be taking some time off from representing the good people of Moose Jaw in the halls of Federal government, in order to recover from two major surgeries.
On Friday morning, he published a post to his Facebook account giving an update on his health. "My hip replacement surgery" he said "was originally scheduled for January 29th, has been postponed due to the fact I will now require prostate surgery".
Later that evening he published a post in which he had positive things to say about Andrew Scheer's reaction to Tom's upcoming surgeries. "...Andrew Scheer is a class act," he said. "Andrew phoned to inquire about my health. To take time out of his incredibly busy schedule and ask how I was doing speaks volumes about his character." He then claimed that Scheer was going to be Canada's next Prime Minister.
On Saturday, Tom published a second post, updating those concerned, of his medical situation. "Yes, I will require prostate surgery," he said, "but no, I do not have prostate cancer. At least, I certainly do not think so, since my PSA number seems to be within acceptable levels."
Tom is unable to go through with the hip replacement surgery until the prostate surgery has been completed. The risk of infection is too great.
Back on November 2, 2017 Tom announced his plan to run for re-election in 2019, claiming, "even for an incumbent, an election is never a slam-dunk. I know that the trust of the voters must be earned at every step of the way. I am determined to earn that trust once again so that I can continue to serve my constituents by supporting Andrew (Scheer) and his initiatives."
Get well, Tom. Our thoughts are with you.
