Free Christmas Light Show This Saturday
A FREE Christmas oriented event for everyone is set to make its return after the COVID - 19 pandemic this Saturday afternoon.
Put on by the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company the Christmas Light Show and more is set to take over the Golden Mile Arena (250 Thatcher Drive East) with two shows at 1 pm and 3 pm.
“We will be having our Christmas light show that includes lights we have on the north wall in the arena that light up to music,” George Fowler general manager of the Moose Jaw Exhibition told MJ Independent.
As part of the show there will be a horse and dog relay competition.
“It will be fun,” Fowler said.
The Exhibition is well known for its horse and dog shows that take place on the grounds.
Locally well known singer Sharon Church and two of her friends will be coming to sing Christmas carols.
“She’s a really good singer,” Fowler said, adding “they’re coming to sing.”
As part of the day there will also be free hot chocolate as well as coffee.
For those who want to drink or eat more the well spoken of concession will be open.
The event will be taking non-perishable food donations for the Moose Jaw Food Bank.
Cash donations will be also accepted for the Moose Jaw Burrowing Owl Centre.
Donations are voluntary and everyone - donation or not - are welcome to attend either (or both) shows.
Fowler said there should be sufficient seating but it would be best if people showed up ten minutes before either show.
The shows run for approximately an hour.
“It’s a show for anyone who would like to get in the Christmas spirit.”
