SCRAPS Celebrates Restauranteurs And Their Cats
Submitted by SCRAPS - MJ
Summer has welcomed in July …..and wow how the days are flying! This month SCRAPS pays tribute to Restaurants & their role as essential services during the difficult months of COVID ……..
As we turn the pages of our “Rescue Me” Calendar & begin to see HOPE appear in the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue honouring each month those who played important roles on the front lines during those challenging times.
The Restaurant industry has experienced some of the most significant changes & challenges resulting from the global COVID-19 health emergency. From supply shortages, limited staffing, reduced capacities and sadly many businesses being forced to close their doors, it has been a tough time.
Adapting through a state of emergency from serving customers at tables to a focus on take out and delivery, restaurants have transitioned through new & challenging norms.
This month we honour & recognize two very special purrsons featured in our calendars month of July ! Micheal from A & W (with his adopted SCRAPS Cat Rocky)& our amazing volunteer Sue from Mortlach’s “Franklyns’ Eatery” (with our beloved & famous Cat Tux who has sadly crossed the rainbow bridge). We all miss you Tuxy
Helping & Rescue comes full circle as we continue to honour those whose dedication continues to support our communities & its vulnerable members through the challenges of COVID-19. Love & caring begins with each of us reaching out to simply help another……..
“Thank You” once again to Lisa of Brice Photography, Gail of Wolfen Photography & the dedicated SCRAPS Calendar committee who brought a vision to reality; to the many businesses who generously participated in our project & supporters who purchased a “Rescue Me” calendar this year. You have all been an important part of making this years’ fundraiser a huge success & helping us to continue to be able to improve the lives of homeless Cats in our community.
