U15 A Mavericks Take Game One in Third Overtime Period

The referees referees were tired. The players were tired. The coaches were tired. The scorekeepers were tired. And the fans were tired.

This after the U15 A Moose Jaw Carpet One Mavericks defeated the Regina Rebels Gold 2 - 1 at 7:43 of the third overtime period.

The three hour marathon was over after 93 minutes of play.

The Mavericks were the first to score in the First Period.

Defence Evelyn Stokes skated from the right wing blue line past the halfway mark of the circle where she rocketed a wristband past Regina goaltender Easton Petracek.

Assists went to Sophia Page and Willow Scott.

The Second Period saw no scoring.

Just after the puck drop in the Third Period Makayla Bronson broke in and scored an unassisted goal at 19:50.

The Fourth Period saw no scoring.

The Fifth Period saw no scoring.

At 7:43 of the Sixth Period Maria Umana broke in on the right wing and shot the puck six inches above the left of goaltender Petracek.

The assist went to Taylor Hawkins.

Game Two of the best of three series at Regina Co-operators Arena at 7:15 pm.

Game Three, if necessary. will be played Sunday March 9th at 1:30 pm at the Red Knight Arena.
