Ranch Roping Finals This Weekend
The cowboys and cowgirls will be taking over the Golden Mile Arena on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds - 250 Thatcher Drive East - this Saturday and Sunday as the Canadian Ranch Roping Association hold their national championships.
The event starts at 9 am daily and ends each day when the competitions are completed for the day. The event is FREE to attend and the concession will be open.
“Ranch roping is where there are a number of cows released into the arena and the judge will tell them to single one out and rope it but it’s all done in very low key with no stress to the cows,” George Fowler general manager of the Moose Jaw Exhibition said.

Ranch roping has rules and if the cattle are overly stressed or roped improperly points are deducted.
It stresses no harm and stress to animals as experienced on the ranch or farm.
