Canucks U18 AA Shake Off Cobwebs In Doubleheader Split

After the rains the sun came out might be the best way to describe the Moose Jaw Canucks U18AA team on Saturday.

Following what could best be described as a humiliating mercy rule loss on Wednesday the Canucks game came alive against powerhouse White Butte Broncos.

The Canucks managed to split a double hitter in Balgonie.

A doubleheader that had two very close games.

Game One Canucks 8 - Broncos 6

The Broncos came up just short in their come from behind rally losing to the Canucks 8 - 6 in the opening game of the doubleheader.

Heading into the bottom half of the seventh inning the Broncos found themselves trailing by six.

But the home team rallied managing to score four runs before they ran out of outs.

White Butte held a 2 - 0 lead through the first two innings but Moose Jaw tied it at the top of the fourth inning.

Karsen Pruden hit a strong triple and Carter Stewart grounding out pushed the Canucks into a 2 - 2 tie.

With the bases loaded Spencer Craig was walked scoring a run in the fifth inning. A wild pitch would give Moose Jaw a 4 - 2 lead.

The Canucks had 10 hits while the Broncos had three hits in the victory.

Game Two Canucks 10 - Broncos 12

One swing of the bat by the Broncos’ Chase Kee cost the Canucks game two of the doubleheader.

Kee would hit a rare grand slam home run to center field in the sixth inning.

The Broncos would score seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning grabbing a 12 - 7 lead.

It was a lead to insurmountable by the Canucks who fought back with three runs in the top of the seventh and final inning.

The Broncos would have 13 hits in the game.

Moose Jaw would draw 0 errors in the field.

The Canucks would draw six walks in the contest.
