Mustangs Off To Bronze Medal Final

A 2 - 1 record has earned the Moose Jaw Mustangs U15B lacrosse team a chance of winning a bronze medal in Sherwood Park this Sunday morning.
Playing in the Titans Classic Tournament the Mustangs were one goal shy of potentially advancing to the tournament’s gold medal final.
Game One Mustangs 4 - Raiders 5
The Mustangs started the tournament with a 5 - 4 loss to the Okotoks Raiders.
The Mustangs would take a 2 - 1 lead on goals by Brett Bowerin and Caiden Arnott after the first period.
The second period saw the Raiders take the lead 4 - 2 on three unanswered goals.
The Mustangs would tie the game 4 - 4 in the second period on goals by Ryan Deichert and Bentley Messner.
The Raiders would get the go ahead goal at 4:47 of the third period and hold on for the win.
Game Two Mustangs 7 - Lakeland Heat 2
The Mustangs would take the lead 1 - 0 after the first period off of a goal by Bentley Messner.
The second period saw goals by Brett Bowerin and Cooper Fulton give the Mustangs a 3 - 0 lead until the Heat scored at 8:16 on the powerplay.
Moose Jaw’s Rylan Deichert would score with less than a minute remaining in the period to give the Mustangs a 4 - 1 advantage at the break.
The third period saw the Heat move the score closer at 4 - 2 in the Mustang’s favour.
A trio of goals by the Mustangs’ Cash Bellefueille, Caidon Arnott and Jay Houle lifted the final score to 7 - 2 for Moose Jaw.
Game Three Mustangs 12 - Rockyview Range 2
The third and final game saw the Mustangs dominate play in a 12 - 2 rout of the Rockyview Rage.
The Mustangs would score seven first period goals.
Bentley Messner scored two goals in the first period.
Adding single goals were Brent Bowerin, Caiden Arnott, Cooper Fulton, Cash Bellefueille and Joseph Jackson.
The score at the end of the first period was Moose Jaw 7 and Rockyview 1.
The second period saw the Mustangs add for more goals.
Scoring for Moose Jaw was Rylan Deichert, Joseph Jackson, Cooper Fullerton and Ryder Seiferling.
Moose Jaw rounded scoring at 8:10 of the third period on an unassisted goal by Connor Livingston.
