Canucks U18 AA Win Saskatoon Tournament
Record wise so far the regular season for the Moose Jaw Canucks U18 AA is below 500 but at this weekend’s Quinn Stevenson Memorial Baseball Tournament in Saskatoon it has been stellar.
The Canucks came out strong recording an 11 - 3 victory over top of the Regina Pacers to claim the tournament crown.
The bottom of the first inning saw the Canucks score two runs on singles by Spencer Craig and Zayden Anderson.
The second inning was decisive for the Canucks as they scored five runs on three hits.
Pitcher Riley Cushway picked up the win for Moose Jaw. He gave up six hits and three runs in seven innings on seven strikeouts and two walks.
Cushway helped his own cause with two hits and two runs batted in.
Reliever Aaron Meyer - who entered the game at one and two-thirds innings taking the loss for Regina. He threw for three and two thirds innings after striking out five and giving up three hits.
Also with two hits for the Canucks were Zayden Anderson and Spencer Craig.
Hudson Talon and Anderson were successful in base running wracking up multiple stolen bases.
