Senior Basketball City League Semi-Finals Rescheduled To Thursday

It’s a case of fingers and toes crossed as the Moose Jaw high school senior basketball semi-finals are set to go this Thursday evening.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday March 4 the semi-finals had to be rescheduled to Thursday due to sanctions against extracurricular activities by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF).

The STF and provincial government are at an impasse over top of a new collective agreement for the province’s teachers.

The schedule for Thursday night is:

Girls semi-final Central vs Vanier 6:20 pm at Vanier Collegiate

Boys semi-final Central vs Vanier 8 pm at Vanier Collegiate

Girls semi-final Peacock vs Swift Current 5:50 pm at Swift Current

Boys semi-final Peacock vs Swift Current 7:30 pm at Swift Current

There is still no word as to when the Finals in the junior city league are rescheduled to.

Monday’s one day walkout by teachers on Monday as well as job action cancelling extracurricular actives on Tuesday has the junior girls, junior boys and JV boys finals temporarily postponed.

The games must be rescheduled by March 13th.
