One Dead In Vehicle Crash

An occupant of a motor vehicle is dead following a crash late Thursday evening.

Two other occupants were transported to the hospital.

One remains in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries while the other was released from hospital after being treated for minor injuries.

According to the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) the crash occurred on Thursday November 7, 2024, at approximately 11:49 p.m. on the 1300 block of Main St. N. .

An eyewitness to the incident saw three MJPS vehicles in pursuit and the female officer pulled her gun when one of the people in the crashed vehicle attempted to flee the scene.

The eyewitness said the pursued vehicle hit the center meridian and there were sparks everywhere during the incident.

The vehicle rolled many times according to the eyewitness.

An eyewitness to the aftermath of the crash saw what they believed to be a female member of the MJPS with a weapon drawn shortly after the crash.

They were drawn to look at the crash due to the loud noise it made.

Both eyewitnesses asked to remain anonymous a request MJ Independent is honouring.

The MJPS has not released the names of the vehicle’s three occupants, why the police involvement and if any charges have been laid.

The MJPS on Friday afternoon also approached area businesses if they had any security camera footage of the incident.

Due to police involvement prior to the collision the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response (SIRT) team has been notified and is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
