Brier Has New Title Sponsor

REGINA, SK

Curling Canada’s premiere event - the Brier - will have a new sponsor commencing with this year’s event to be held in Regina March 1 - 10 at the Brandt Centre.

This year’s edition of the Brier will be the Montana’s BBQ and Grill Brier.

Montana’s becomes the fifth title sponsor preceded by (in order) Tim Horton’s, Nokia, Labbatt Breweries and MacDonald Tobacco.

The Brier - the Canadian men’s curling championship - has been in existence for 96 years.

Speaking to assembled media Danny Lamoureux interim chief executive officer for Curling Canada said there was a lot of interest in the quest for finding a new sponsor for the event.

“We knew that there would be a great deal of interest from a sponsorship perspective when we started the process to find a new partner for the Brier,” Lamoureux told the media gathered at Montana’s Rochdale Boulevard location.

“Montana’s brand is known from coast to coast, just like the Brier, so it’s a perfect fit and I have a feeling there will be some wonderful opportunities for both Montana’s and Curling Canada as we work together down the road,” he said.

Montana’s operates close to 100 locations across Canada including the Thatcher Drive East location in Moose Jaw.

For those wanting tickets to this year’s Montana Brier ticket packages will be available online at curling.ca/tickets, or in person at the Brandt Centre box office.

Email ticket inquiries can be sent to briertickets@curling.ca.
