Area Resident Concerned About Drug Fueled Crime In Moose Jaw

“Most definitely I’m worried it’s crazy out there,” a South Hill resident who lives in the vicinity of Wednesday evening’s armed invasion said.

“It’s terrible up here,” the resident said after witnessing the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) in action at the Irving Avenue incident on Wednesday evening.

The alleged home invasion left an Irving Avenue resident with a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound to the head.

The area resident asked that their identity be kept secret as they feared retribution from criminals for speaking out. We agreed to provide anonymity to get the story and to protect the individual’s safety.

At the time of the incident the area resident was unaware of what was going on but now is very unsettled after learning about what occurred.

The MJPS arrested Joshua Bradley Adams as a result of that incident.

Adams has been charged with one count of Breaking and Entering, one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Possessing a firearm while prohibited, and one count of Possessing a fiream without a valid license or registration.

THE MOOSE JAW POLICE SERVICE ARE SEEKING 29-YEAR-OLD RYAN GILL PERREAULT WITH AN ARREST WARRANT FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER AND BREAK AND ENTER IN RELATION TO WEDNESDAY EVENING’S INCIDENT ON SOUTH HILL’S IRVING AVENUE - MOOSE JAW POLICE SERVICE PHOTO

The MJPS is searching for 29-year old Ryan Gill Perreault with an arrest warrant for attempted murder and break and enter.

Perreault is considered armed and dangerous and the MJPS asks the public not to approach the suspect but to contact them.

The area resident said “it’s terrible up here.”

The resident puts the onus on the MJPS to deal with the crime problems not only in their neighbourhood but throughout the city.

“I don’t know what the answer is…but whatever is going on the police need to start digging their heels in and start putting them in jail.”

The resident said banishment from law abiding citizens may be an answer.

“Put them on an island someplace away from everybody so they know this won’t be allowed.”

The area resident said they were concerned after seeing numerous police vehicles with their emergency beacons on and at least one uniformed police officer running to the north of Irving Avenue.

They did not see any canine units in the area - although they may have been there.

It’s bullshit. It’s just bullshit. How are they getting these guns???

The resident said the reason they see for what is happening on South Hill and the entire community is the drug epidemic gripping Moose Jaw with such drugs as Meth, Fentanyl and horse and other tranquilizer mixed concoctions easily accessible in Moose Jaw.

“There are some very bad drugs in Moose Jaw,” they said.

The growth in narcotics use and the associated crimes surrounding it has affected the resident’s life.

“This is why I don’t go walking at night anymore. I use to walk a lot at night,” they said.

The resident said they were contacted by those conducting the survey into what the community thinks about the MJPS and reiterated their same thoughts there.
