Chief’s Commendation Award: The Chief’s Commendation Award is given to police personnel or residents whose effective actions resolved a critical situation.
This year’s award goes out to a resident who assisted the MJPS in a violent incident.
“This is a rather interesting story, on September 12, 2021 The police were in pursuit of a male who had broken into a woman’s residence and had threatened her in her residence. The male fled the scene and was being pursued by police on foot, Allan Terran was in the area and saw the male being pursued by police. When he alerted to the police of the males whereabouts the male turned and attacked him, however that was a bad idea as Allan subdued the male until police arrived. Allan was badly cut in the altercation, but his bold actions prevented further harm to the citizens of that area and we would like to honour him today with this reward,” said Sgt. Cam Lewis.
