Admin To Ask Council To Extend Property Tax Payment Deadline

Problems with the City’s enterprise computer network software may see the tax payment deadline for 2023 moved to August 31 pending Council approval.

Traditionally the tax payment deadline is June 30th but has been extended already to July 31st.

Administration will be requesting Council to extend the tax payment deadline until August 31st due to further delays installing the system.

Tax notices for 2023 are expected to come out sometime in July.

The computer software installation glitch has not only impacted the City’s financial services on the taxation side but also impacted the Moose Jaw Police Service’s (MJPS) budgeting details leaving months with no financial updates to the Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners.

The MJPS contract the City to provide financial services for the force.
