Vanier Senior Girls Win Estevan Tournament

Vanier Collegiate Senior Girls won the Estevan Annual Victor Elias Memorial “Shoot for a Cure” Pink Tournament this past weekend.
In addition to being a great tournament it was also a fundraising for a grade 11 student at Estevan who is recently received cancer treatments. It was a great well run tournament.
Results
Vanier Collegiate Senior Girls got first place.
Peacock Collegiate placed third.
Central won the consolation final.
Game 1 Friday against North Battleford Comp High School:
Vanier played against North Battleford Comp High school. They played a great game and controlled the flow of the game starting in quarter 2 right till the end.

Game 2 Saturday against Weyburn Eagles
In a physical game against Weyburn, Vanier was able to gain control the game in the second quarter and was able to fast break and take advantage of their speed in the win

Game 3 Saturday Final Game - against Winston Knoll Wolverines
Vanier was behind the whole game with the biggest spread being 10, however, in the last five minutes of the game they were able to close the gap to five points.
By the two minute mark the Spirits closed the gap to two.
In the last 30 seconds of the game we were able to tie up the game.
We took the lead in the remaining 10 seconds of the game due to Waverly Demassi going on an offensive role with exceptional half court defence that shut down the Wolverines.
