Spirits Settle For Third Place

It isn’t the final they had hoped for but the Vanier Spirits did managed to medal and they are the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) 4A senior girls bronze medalist.

The Spirits advanced to the playoff bracket with a perfect 4 - 0 Pool A record.

In the playoff bracket the first seeded Spirits defeated the hard spiking Regina Luther 2 - 0.

The set scores were 25 - 7 and 25 - 10.

Against powerhouse North Battleford’s John Paul II the Spirits lost 2 - 1.

Vanier’s set scores were 18 - 25, 25 - 22 and 7 - 15.

With the loss the Spirits were relegated to the bronze medal final against Meadow Lake where they had to battle back but won 2 - 1.

The set scores were 20 - 25, 27 - 25 and 15 - 7.
