Health Canada Recalls Popular Jogging Style Stroller

If you are taking your child or grandchild for an outing in a three wheeled stroller you might want to take a close look at the model because it may be one of thousands recalled in Canada and the United States because of a finger tip amputation hazard.

Health Canada has advised that people using the affected strollers discontinue use of them immediately due to the risk of fingertip amputations for non-occupant children..

People having the stroller are advised to IMMEDIATEKLY quit using it.

This recall involves UPPAbaby All-Terrain RIDGE Jogging Strollers with rear disc brakes.

The serial numbers of the recalled products begin with “1401RDGUS” and appear on the right side of the stroller frame above the rear wheel of the stroller. The model number “1401-RDG-US” is printed on the left side of the stroller frame above the rear wheel of the stroller.

The stroller’s rear disc brakes have openings that can cause amputation or laceration if a non-occupant child’s fingertip gets caught in the openings while the stroller is in use.

As of August 30, 2022, the company has received no reports of injury in Canada.  In the United States, the company has received 1 report of incident involving a fingertip amputation.

The recall is in effect for the United States and Canada - the effected strollers now cannot be sold through garage or private sales.
